How to get there ?

We split the GR20 up in two parts - first the north the first year, then the south the following year. Clearly the north is the hardest challenge in steep mountains, while the south has more rolling hills.

We flew into Calvi in the north taking a taxi up to Calenzana to start the trek the following day after a good nights sleep at Hotel Bel Horizon. The first week ended in Vizzavona, where we took the train down to Ajaccio enjoying half a day before catching an evening plane home.

For the southern half we flew into and out of Bastia on the north west coast. From here the train to Ajaccio stops in Vizzavona for our start.  From the last stop in Conza the hotel took us in their bus down to the coastal road to catch the bus to Bastia.

GR20 South:
